Lieutenant General Javed Ashraf Qazi was the head of the Military Intelligence from 1990 to 1991 and Inter-Services Intelligence from 1993 to 1995.

He made these remarks in an interview to a private Pakistani news channel on Saturday, the former head of the ISI told that in 1994-95 ISI was able to uncover and stop the secret American operation conducted by the officials with the help of a Pakistan Army major.

Lieutenant General Javed Ashraf Qazi was informed about this operation as he was heading the ISI at that time. While the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA operator was expelled from the Pakistan.

Spying on the so-called friends is a typical part of the intelligence business that is conducted all the time. This news of US intelligence agencies trying to get sensitive information on Pakistan’s nuclear weapons program shed some light on the complexities of the relationship between world’s most powerful nation, United States and world’s only Muslim country with Nuclear weapons, Pakistan.

United States have tried its level best through the use of sanction over more than a decade and series of threats to keep the jin in the bottle by asking Pakistan to roll back or atleast freeze its nuclear weapons program that was started in mid 1970s. On 28th May 1998 Pakistan finally conducted nuclear weapons tests to make it the world’s 7th declared nuclear weapons state.
