Pakistan Army to Purchase 30 Bell 412EP Helicopters



Foreign Military Sale notification has been sent by the DSCA to US Congress for the FMS of 30 Bell 412 Enhanced Performance Helicopters to Pakistan Army. Overall cost of this project will be around $397 million.

These helicopters are part of plan developed to improve the airlift capabilities of the Pakistan army. These helicopters will be used by both Pakistani Special Forces (SSG) and the Frontier Corps. Under earlier contracts Pakistan army has already received over 26 Bell-412 helicopters in 2007 and other two were handed over to PA in May this year.

Pakistan Navy to Upgrade Old Agosta 70 Submarines with SUBTICS Combat System


Pakistan Navy has signed a contract with the French company DCNS to purchase Submarine Tactical Integrated Combat System (SUBTICS) for the old Agosta 70 diesel-electric submarines. This contract was signed by the Pakistan Navy in June.Pakistan Navy has already purchased three Agosta 90B diesel-electric submarines from France two of which were built in Pakistan under license.

Pakistan is also looking for atleast three additional modern submarines with option of atleast another four. 

France has already tried to push through its most modern submarine design called Marlin SSK. Marlin submarines  s based on the Scropene submarine which is already being purchased by the Indian navy. DCNS sold six Scorpene submarines to India for $3.9 billion in 2005. These submarines are being assembled by Mazagon Docks but the program has suffered from time delays.

China Delivers Third Zulfiquar Class Frigate"PNS SAIF"

China has delivered the third F-22P frigates class frigate to the Pakistan Navy on Wednesday. This ship which belongs to the Sword Class series is named PNS SAIF.

These frigates were constructed at the Hudong Zhonghua Shipyard Shanghai. Pakistan Navy has also started the construction of the fourth F-22P at the Karachi Shipyard. Construction is so far progressing satisfactorily as per schedule as per sources in Pakistan Navy.

Zulfiquar / Sword Class F-22P Frigates are equipped with medium to advance weapons and sensors. These ships will also carry Z9EC helicopters.

Master Abdul Basit Creates History by Becoming the Youngest Soldier of Pakistan Army


History was created on Sixtieth Independence day of Pakistan when a fifteen year old kid from Karachi joined Pakistan Army as a soldier.

Master Abdul Basit a very young and patriotic boy suffering from the blood cancer in an interview with a NGO "Make A Wish Foundation" said that his ultimate wish is to become a soldier in Pakistan Army to serve his mother land.

This wish of Master Abdul Basit made its way to the Chief of Pakistan Army, General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani through "Make A Wish Foundation". Chief of Army Staff, General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani being inspired by the aspirations of brave young Master Abdul Basit decided to issue a special order to the Pakistan Army under which this youngster was allowed to become the youngest soldier of Pakistan Army for a day so that dreams of Abdul Basit can become reality.

Pakistan Army Officers Cancel Their Visit US CENTCOM

To protest against the misbehavior by the American authorities at the Dallas Airport, nine officers of Pakistan Army have cancelled their visit the US CENTCOM.

These nine passenger were part of delegation of Pakistan Army led by a two-star general on their way to attend a meeting at US CENTCOM on the invitation of the US Department of Defense.

As members of this delegation had taken seveal flight on their way to the US CENTCOM, one of the members (a Brigadier) of the group said to its colleagues that he hope that this would be their last flight and they would reach their destination soon because he is too tired. One of the passengers on board United Airlines plane over heard the conversion out of context and misunderstood their intensions and thought that they might be terrorists.

He informed that to the crew of the plane who inturn asked the members of the delegation about it. Members of the Pakistan Army’s delegation explained to the airplane crew the whole context and told them that they are going for a meeting at the request of the US CENTCOM and the sentence overheard by the passenger of the United Airlines plane was said by a member because he felt tired after talking several flights. Flight attendant made irresponsible offending comments about this situation.
