Defense Security Cooperation Agency of United States has awarded the Lockheed Martin a contract for the purchase of 7665 Enhanced Laser Guided Training Round Paveway II units. Pakistan air force will get 300 enhanced laser guided training round Paveway II units and 97 wooden containers of which 23 will be replacement-in-kind wooden containers.
Total package for Pakistan air force will be worth $866,850.This contract is estimated to be complete in June 2013. Pakistan will use these 7665 Enhanced Laser Guided Training Round Paveway II units to increase the training of its fighter pilots in area of precision attacks against the militants in FATA.
Pakistan air force has already received 700 GBU-12 and 300 GBU-10 Paveway laser-guided bomb kits for its F-16 fighter jets.
