Indian Air Force Looking for Long Range BVR Missiles for Its Fighter Jets

Indian Air Force has issued a request for information (RFI) for the possible purchase of the long range Beyond Visual range missiles for its fighter jets.

Indian in the past has looked for a new BVR missile range of over 100 kilometers to counter the Pakistani acquation of  500 AIM-120 C-5 AMRAAM BVR missiles from the United States for its F-16 C/D Block 52+ and F-16 AM/BM fighter jets.


American AIM-120 C-5 AMRAAM BVR has a range of over 105 kilometers, although No Escape Zone (Zone within which there is a high chances to destroy the target even if it has been alerted) is much smaller then 100 km.
