PAF Capable of Defending Pakistani Airspace from US Drones: Air Chief Marshal Rao

Pakistan Air Chief, Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Rao Qamar Suleman has informed the parliamentarians in a joint in-camera session of parliament that  Pakistan air force can defend that Pakistani air space form the US drones as if the political leadership of the country issues such orders.


In response to a question by the parliamentarians, Air Vice Marshal Mohammad Hassan said that Pakistan’s Shamsi Air Base is under the control of United Arab Emirates, not in the control of Pakistan Air Force, sources said.

Joint in-camera session of parliament was held in the backdrop of the Abbottabad operation by the United States earlier this month. Air Chief said that investigation has been launched to identify the facts about the incident. He repeated his earlier stance on the issue that radars operated by the Pakistani air force were not jammed.
