Special Representative of Russia Meets Minister of State Ms. Hina Rabbani

Special Representative of Russia for Afghanistan has met with the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Ms. Hina Rabbani Khar and discussed the current state of relationship between Pakistan and Russia. 

Special Representative of Russia for Afghanistan, Mr. Zamir Kabulov discussed different issues including situation in Afghanistan with  Ms. Hina Rabbani Khar. Both sides underscored the importance close c operation to promote stability, peace and security in the region.



Ms. Hina Rabbani also said that Pakistan is committed to a stability and peace in Afghanistan and support for a reconciliation process by Afghans.


Cooperation between Pakistan and Russia has increased in recent years economic, political and war against terrorism. Pakistan army relies heavily on the Russian Mi-17 helicopters for operations against terrorists to insert and evocate the troops from the battle zone. Pakistan army  has show interest in the Russian Mi-35 gunship cum transport helicopter which can be equipped with weapons while still retaining capability to transport eight armed troops in hostile area. 

Pakistan army is interested in Mi-35 gunship helicopters as it will allow them with capability to insert the special service group's operators safely behind the enemy lines as these armored helicopters can sustain small arms fire from ground.
