American Soldiers Will Not be Allowed on Pakistani Soil: Pakistan

Chief of Army Staff (COAS), General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani and Director-General of the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), Lieutenant-General Ahmad Shuja Pasha has informed CIA Director Leon Panetta that Pakistan will no allow American soldiers to operate in country. This was said after he raised his concerns about the recent reduction in the number of American trainers and CIA operators in Pakistan.

CIA Director Leon Panetta is visiting Pakistan when Pakistan has decided not only to reduce the number of American trainers & CIA operators, but also offered to use US military aid for helping civilian projects. This has been seen as a sign of weakening American influence over the Pakistani security forces.

This was the first visit of the CIA Director after the unilateral action in Pakistan of the US to kill Osama bin Laden. Pakistan is also setting limits on the intelligence sharing with the United States after finding out that US itself was holding out from them.

Officials say that both General  Kayani and Lieutenant-General Shuja Pasha has told Panetta  that Pakistan is not interested in US troops but is ready for intelligence sharing.
