Pakistani Foreign Office (FO) has summoned Afghan envoy to the Pakistani foreign office and lodged strong protest against the use of Afghan territory by the terrorists groups for attacking Pakistan. Pakistan has asked the Afghan forces and International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) to take active action against cross-border militancy against Pakistan.
Foreign Office protest came after the two to three hundred heavily armed Taliban from across the border attacked a Pakistani border check post in Upper Dir area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
Pakistani paramilitary forces immediately sent reinforcements to the area and used army helicopters and artillery to target Talibans. Taliban militants has fled the area and crossed border after receiving high casualties in the counter attack launched by the Pakistani security forces.
