Pakistan Air Force Shuts Airspace Over Multan

ISPR has confirmed the media reports that access to the airspace over the home town of the Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gilani was suspended and all inbound flights were re-directed. This restriction for was placed after directions of Pakistan Air Force to the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA)  the for couple of hours.

 The officials from the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) has stated that all the civilian air traffic in         
114 kilometer long air corridor due to a drill by the PAF.
The Pakistan International Airlines' flights PK 682 (Lahore to Multan) and PK652 (Hyderabad to Lahore) were re-directed. A top Pakistani news paper, The News has reported that air corridor was closed after Pakistan Air Force scrambled its fighter jets to intercept a unidentified  UAV/drone which was detected by the radars east of Multan. 
DG,  Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR)  has said that air corridor over the Multan was closed due to an exercise by the PAF and he had no information about any unidentified drone.
