Pakistan Improved Its Defenses Along Indo-Pak Border: India

Indian defense minister, Arackaparambil Kurien Antony has claimed that Pakistan has constructed and repaired 856 bunkers and 143 Border Out-Posts (BOPs) along the Indo-Paqk border.

In his reply to a question by a Lok Sabha member, Indian defense minister said, "Government is aware through intelligence inputs that Pakistan has constructed and carried out repairs of 856 bunkers, 261 morchas, 378 towers and 143 BOPs."


India has just completed a large scale military exercise along its international border with Pakistan which involved over 50,000 soldiers hundreds of  main battle tank (MBT),\, mechanized infantry combat vehicle (MICV), and fighter aircraft. The Sudarshan Shakti military exercise.was aimed at testing new tactics as part of Indian Cold Start Doctrine which calls for rapid attack on Pakistan in order to avoid any international pressure.

India plans to spend over $ 11.256 million dollars over next five years to build bunkers, airbases for helicopters & fighter jets, ammunition storage facilities and support infrastructure along its borders with Pakistan and China.
