United States Vacates, Pakistan Takes Over‎ Shamsi Air Base

The Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) has confirmed that  Shamsi Air Base has been vacated by the United States.
The Frontier Corps (FC) and Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has taken over the control of the airbase and removed the flag of the United States and replaced it with Pakistani flag.
Last US C-17 Globemaster III military transport aircraft has left the airbase for Afghanistan at around 3:00 pm with the last group of 32 United Sates soldiers and equipment.
Pakistan had ordered US to vacate the airbase use by the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) for its drone operations in FATA in the aftermath of NATO strikes o Pakistani security check posts along its border with Afghanistan which killed 24 Pakistani soldiers.
