Another Mig fighter aircrafts of the Indian Air Force has crashed on Friday. Aircraft in question is Mig-21 also known as flying coffins in the IAF service because of the extremely high crash rate.
Pilot Squadron Leader Falguni Laha Roy of the Mig-21 was able to eject safely out of his aircraft.Fighter jet suffered from some engine problem while in air. Last year, ten aircrafts of IAF crashed and six of them were Migs.
India plans to purchase 126 Medium Multi Role Combat Aircraft for which US is offering the latest versions of the F-16 E/F and F/A-18 E/F, France is in race with Dassault's Rafale,European consortium is pushing Eurofighter Typhoon, Sweden is pitching JAS-39 Gripen NG and Russia is trying to sell Mig-35.
