Pakistan will Not to Enter into Nuclear Arms Race with India: PAF Chief

Pakistan Air Force (PAF) chief, Air Chief Marshal Rao Qamar Suleman has said that Pakistan believes in policy of co-existence and is not in favor of the entering into a nuclear arms race. At the same time he said that Pakistan is keeping a close eye on the developments in the region and will take steps to ensure a balance of power.

Air Chief Marshal Rao Qamar Suleman was speaking at the international conference on "Fissile Material Treaty (FMT): Possibility and Prospects" which is being held in the Islamabad, Pakistan.


He said that Pakistan started its nuclear program because it had no other choice and have developed a very effective command and control structures which are fully well-matched with global practices.

Because of the massive Indian investments in nuclear powered submarines, submarine launched ballistic missiles, anti ballistic missiles and intermediate range ballistic missiles, it is feared that Asian region will see massive response from the Pakistani and Chinese sides to counter the Indian capabilities.
