US Embassy spokesman, Alberto Rodriguez has confirmed the reports that Pakistan has stopped all US operations from the Shamsi Air Base which is located about 200 miles southwest of Quetta near the town of Washki. It was the same airbase which was being used by the American launch unmanned aerial strikes against targets in the tribal region of the Pakistan.
Shamsi Air Base in Balochistan was provided to the United States to for logistical support operation at the start of the Afghan war and it was used extensively by the Americans in 2001 to launch sorties against targets in Afghanistan.
Sources in the Pakistan Army have confirmed that American forces have left the Shamsi Air Base in Balochistan. United States Central Intelligence Agency was using the Shamsi Air Base to launch unmanned Predator UAVs which were armed to strike the targets inside Pakistan’s FATA region which has resulted in the deaths of several hundred innocent people.
US and CIA didn’t admitted the true use of the Shamsi Air Base until Google images showed the Predator unmanned aerial vehicle parked outside a hangar at the end of the runway of the airbase.
