Al Qaeda Operative Al-Makki Captured, Suicide Attack Averted



Pakistani Army has captured a higher-ranking member of the Al Qaeda, Muhammad Ali Qasim Yaqub, alias Abu Sohaib al-Makki from Karachi.

DG ISPR, Maj. Gen. Athar Abbas announced that Muhammad Ali Qasim Yaqub, alias Abu Sohaib al-Makki was a Yemeni origin Al Qaeda member who was operating in the Pakistani-Afghan border.


United States official has said al-Makki was Al Qaeda member and admired the efforts of the Pakistani security forces.


Suicide Attack Averted

A major suicide attack by five suicide bombers including three women was averted after clash with the police in Pakistan's Quetta. Police stopped the vehicle carrying suicide bombers at a check post.

After clash one of the female suicide bombers blew herself up. A Police official has said that five bombers were in the car wearing their explosive vests to launch a major terrorist attack in the Balochistan capital.

Police ordered them to stop for a routine check near the city airport but they tried to run away. They were intercepted by the Frontier Constabulary in area of Kharotabad. 

They got out of the car an started firing at the Frontier Constabulary personal, one of the female bomber's blew herself up after being cornered by the security force. One of the suicide bombers is a 25 year old female while another one is just 20 years old.

One security personal was injured and taken to the nearby hospital for treatment but he could not survive and died. Tehreek-e-Taliban and al Qaeda have declared that they will try to avenge the death of Osama bin Laden. Sources say that these bombers were of carrying Russian passports with Iranian visas.
