Pakistani Security Forces has launched and operation against the Taliban terrorists in the Kurram agency. Thousands of Pakistan army and FC troops are taking part in the action against the Talibans in Kurram agency. Cobra gunship helicopters and Bell 412 & Mi-17 Transport helicopters of Pakistan Army Aviation are being used to provide convey escorts and transport troops & equipment.
Fighter jets of the Pakistan air force are providing air support to the ground forces. Pakistan air force has used its fighter jets along with Falco UAVs to identify and target the enemy hideouts in the Kurram agency in the last couple of weeks.
ISPR's spokesperson, Maj. Gen.Athar Abbas has confirmed that military operation has been launched by the Pakistani security forces against the Talibans in area to put an end to the suicide bomb attacks against civilian and security forces.
Government has already established refugee camps for the families which are migrating due the fear of intense fighting in the area. Officials estimate that around one million locals has displaced due to the operations by the security forces to flush out the militants during the last three years.
