This is the image of the first of four Sino-Pak ZDK-03 Airborne Early Warning and Control System (AEW&C) Karakoram Eagle in its final colors before delivery to Pakistan Air Force.
ZDK-03 AEW&C Karakoram Eagle aircraft is a result of an agreement between Pakistan Air Force and China Electronics Technology Group Corporation for the joint development of of the Karakoram Eagle to meet Pakistani requirements of an Airborne Early Warning and Control aircraft.
ZDK-03 AEW&C Karakoram Eagle provides 360ยบ radar coverage with Active Electronically Scanned Array (AESA) Radar.
Karakoram Eagle have advantage over the Saab-2000 AEW&C Erieye in term of long-range, high endurance and extra internal space for the Command & Control equipment and personal.
Karakoram Eagle uses the Y-8 F-600 Turboprop Transport Aircraft and it has been fitted with the conventional rotodome mounted above its fuselage to carry the AESA Radar to provide early warning.
