Pak-China Joint Military Exercise YOUYI-IV to be Held Next Month


Joint Military Exercise YOUYI-IV (Friendship-2011) between Pakistani Special Services Group (SSG) and their Chinese counterparts People's Liberation Army Special Operations Forces (Zhōngguó tèzhǒng bùduì) will be held next month in Pakistan.
Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) has said that YOUYI-IV exercise will be two weeks long and it will focus on the techniques & procedures involved in Low Intensity Conflict Operations (LIC) environment to handel the ever growing threat of terrorism..


The word "YOUYI" literally translates 'FRIENDSHIP' and YOUYI series of exercises were started by Pakistan and China in 2004. Joint Military Training Exercise-YOUYI- III (Friendship-2010) were held from 1st July to 7th July at Qixtonxia, Yeuhuan China.

Members of Special Services Group (SSG) and their Chinese counter parts shared their experiences so that special forces of both nations can be better prepared for any future counter terrorism operation.
