Pakistan Should Build Small Nuclear Power Plants

Chairman of the Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission (PAEC), Dr Ansar Parvez has said that Pakistan should build more nuclear power plants to tackle the current energy crisis in the country.

He was speaking in the IAEA General Conference in Vienna. He said that Pakistan believe that building additional nuclear power plants is one of the most viable options for Pakistan effectively tackle ever growing energy requirements of the country.

Saudi-Pak Joint Exercise AL-SAMSAAM-IV-2011

Maj Gen Javed Iqbal Injured in Helicopter Attack‎

Maj Gen Javed Iqbal, the General Officer Commanding for Swat valley was injured when the Taliban militants fired at his helicopter.

Helicopter carrying Maj Gen Javed Iqbal was flying in the Nusrat Dara area of Upper Dir district at 11.30am when the militants started firing.

Acting Chief of Air Staff Visits Flood Affected Areas

Air Marshal Thair Rafique Butt who is also the Acting Chief of Air Staff Pakistan Air Force (PAF) visited the flood affected areas of the Sindh and provided ration to the DCO of the Nawabshah for flood affectees.Air Marshal Thair Rafique Butt provided over 17,000 kg of dry ration, and 100 tents and visted the relief and medical camps established by PAF.

PNS AZMAT Fast Attack Craft (Missile) Launched


Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Noman Bashir was the Chief Guest at the launching ceremony of the 1st Fast Attack Craft (Missile) being built for Pakistan Navy here at Xingang Shipyard, Tianjin, China.

He said that the project of Fast Attack Craft (Missile) construction represents a quantum leap, not only in Defence Production in naval Sector of Pakistan, but also will meet the long standing operational requirement of Pakistan Navy for the Fast Attack Crafts.


AZMAT Class Fast Attack Craft (Missile) has a crew of 12 to 14 sailors which is less than half that of similar FAC(M). Each FAC(M) will cost of around $50 million each.

PNS AZMAT is speculated to be a 500-600 ton, 60-meter Fast Attack Craft (Missile) which will be equipped with eight C-802A/CSS-N-8 Saccade anti-ship missiles.

First Fast Attack Craft (Missile) will be called AZMAT FAC(M) and it is scheduled to be delivered to Pakistan Navy Fleet by April 2012. These ships will be known as AZMAT Class FAC(M)s in service with Pakistan Navy.

Chief of Naval Staff said that induction of Missile Crafts will supplement Pakistan Navy’s warfare capabilties He cherished the hard work put in by China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation (CSOC) and Pakistan Navy team in realizing the construction of the ship in a short time.

Admiral Noman Bashir said, “Pak-China relationship is unique and does not draw any parallel in the world. This relationship over the years has matured in all fields, particularly in defence.” He said that production of the second Fast Attack Craft (Missile) in Pakistan will also be accomplished with the active help of our Chinese friends.

AZMAT Fast Attack Craft (Missile) is equipped with C802A Surface-to-Surface Anti-Ship Missiles which has a range of 180 kilometers. AZMAT FAC(M) uses latest stealthy features to avoide detection from long ranges. force. Admiral Noman Bashir said that AZMAT FAC(M) is equipped with the high tech weapons and sensors to preform extremely versatile missions.

  • Tender for Two  Fast Attack Craft was released in February 2010
  • Contact was Awarded in December 2010 to CSOC
  • Construction of First FAC-M Started in March 2011
  • First FAC-M Launched in September 2011
  • First FAC-M is scheduled to be delivered in April 2012
  • It will be equipped with 8 x C802A Surface-to-Surface Anti-Ship Missiles which has a range of 180 kilometers.

India To Test Three Ballistic Missiles This Month

India will conduct three ballistic missile tests in the second half of this month. Nuclear capable Shaurya, Prithvi-II and Agni-II ballistic missile are scheduled to be tested from the Integrated Test Range (ITR) off the Orissa coast.

This is the image of the first of four Sino-Pak ZDK-03 Airborne Early Warning and Control System (AEW&C) Karakoram Eagle in its final colors before delivery to Pakistan Air Force.

ZDK-03 AEW&C Karakoram Eagle aircraft is a result of an agreement between Pakistan Air Force and China Electronics Technology Group Corporation for the joint development of of the Karakoram Eagle to meet Pakistani requirements of an Airborne Early Warning and Control aircraft.

Pakistan has decided to deploy additional soldiers in the Chitral and Upper Dir to effectively counter ever increasing cross-border attacks by the Afghan militants.Pakistan Army is already moving troops from the Swat, Malakand division and other parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to Drosh and Mirkhani in Chitral and Maidan in Upper Dir.

IN Purchased MiG-29K Fighter Jets without Weapons

Indian Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) has criticized the Indian Navy for buying Russian MiG-29K fighter jets without associated weapon package. Indian Navy intends to use MiG-29K fighter jets as part of air wing of the INS Vikramaditya aircraft carrier which is still being refit in the Russian shipyard.

India had to delay the test firing of the Agni-II intermediate range ballistic missile due to the technical problems sufferedf by the missile.
