Abdul Sattar Edhi has requested the Chief of army staff, Ashfaq Parvez Kayani to assume the control of the Pakistan for limited duration due to lack of efforts by the government to control the lawlessness in the different areas of Pakistan, especially in Karachi.
He said this in a press conference which was held at the Karachi Press Club. He said that minor elite class is in power and is using lawlessness in Karachi as a tool to further its interests at the cost of several dozens of innocent life each and every day.
His statement shows the lack of confidence among the Pakistanis in the democratic government which has so far protected the killers in street of Karachi. Hundreds of Innocent civilians has been killed but government has shown no sign of any practical action.
