Ceremony for the re-equipment was attended by the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal Rao Qamar Suleman.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br> </div><div style="text-align: justify;">26th squadron Pakistan Air Force was previously flying the Nanchang A-5 III Fantan ground attack aircrafts. </div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br> </div><div style="text-align: justify;">At this ceremony Air Chief Marshal Rao Qamar Suleman also confirmed that No 16 Squadron has also received JF-17 Thunder fighter jets. He said that introduction of the JF-17 Thunders into service has revolutionized PAF’s operational concepts.</div></div>

This was the first time that a Chinese air force contingent was deployed to Pakistan for a joint air exercise.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br> </div><div style="text-align: justify;">Chinese contingent included fighter jets, pilots and support staff, both side focused on learning from each other’s experiences and skills to enhance their own capabilities. So far both sides have refined from disclosing any sort of details about the types of aircraft used by PAF and PLAAF, nature of missions performed and location of this joint drill.</div></div>

An aircraft with larger Radar cross section will be detected by the enemy fighter jet’s radar at longer ranges and thus will be at disadvantage.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br> </div><div style="text-align: justify;">In July last year Pakistan signed a MOU with the Chinese side to design and develop a stealthy version of JF-17 Thunder fighter jet. JF-17 Thunder is now jointly produced at manufacturing facilities of Pakistan Aeronautical Complex (PAC) and Chengdu Aerospace Company (CAC). </div></div>
