Pakistan & China to Hold Military Exercises:General Wynne

General Khalid Shameem Wynne, chairman of Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) has said at a press conference in China that Pak-China friendship is the best example of friendship between two countries in the world.

He is in China to attend the 8th round of Defence and Security talks between two countries. General Khalid Shameem Wynne has said that Pakistan and china will conduct two joint military drills.

PAF to Get 300 Enhanced Laser Guided Training Round Paveway II Units


Defense Security Cooperation Agency of United States has awarded the Lockheed Martin a contract for the purchase of 7665 Enhanced Laser Guided Training Round Paveway II units. Pakistan air force will get 300 enhanced laser guided training round Paveway II units and 97 wooden containers of which 23 will be replacement-in-kind wooden containers.

Pakistan & Azerbaijan to Cooperate on Runway Penetration Bomb

Pakistani company Global Industrial & Defence Solutions (GIDS) will jointly produce Runway Penetration Bomb (RPB) with Azerbaijan. This was announced by the marketing director of GIDS, Mohammad Salman at the IDEX-2011 International Defence Exhibition in Abu Dhabi.

He said that GIDS is in discussions with the Azerbaijan on this project. He said that that Runway Penetration Bombs offered by the GIDS are developed according to the international standards and has been exported to different countries.

Global Industrial & Defense Solutions (GIDS) was established in 2007. It deals with the exports and marketing of military, industrial and technological products and services produced by a group of local firms. GIDS offer Tactical UAVs, Aerial bombs, C4I Air Defense Automation Systems, Airborne Video Tape Recorder System, Infrared Flares & Dispenser System and many other products.

President Zardari for Raise Issue of Nuclear Cooperation with Japan.

In an interview with the Japanese media before his leaving for a visit to Japan, President Zardari has said that in his talks with the Japanese officials he would stress on the need for cooperation on the electricity generation through the peaceful use of nuclear technology.

He said that he is hopeful that given the extreme shortages of electricity which Pakistan faces international community will soon realize that Pakistan‘s genuine need for such technology.

Bone of Contention: US Drone Attacks

Continuous drone attacks by the United States government keeps undermining the process of including the tribal people of the Waziristan area into the efforts to fight terrorism.

Recently US attack on the funeral procession killed the 15 members of shepherd Resham Khan. This left the Resham Khan traumatized and had to be admitted to the psychiatric section of an Islamabad hospital.

It is established truth that both Pakistan and US needs these tribal people on their side if they want to end the roots of terrorism from the area of FATA but these continuous attacks with very high civilian causality rate is only helping militants as they use the anger among the local public to get safe passage and recruitment purposes.

Psychiatrist at the Islamabad hospital said, “If you expect them to love the government, you would be foolish to think so.”

Pakistan is Building 4th Nuclear Reactor at Khushab

US based think tank ‘Institute for Science and International Security’ has used the commercially available  satellite images which were taken last month as basis of its report that Pakistan is building 4th nuclear reactor at Khushab for the production of the plutonium.

Satellite imagery shows that 4th nuclear reactor is essentially in its early stages of construction and it will be similar in size to the 2nd and 3rd Khushab nuclear reactors at this site. First indication of the construction of 4th nuclear reactor at Khushab came from images ten by satellites on September 9, 2010 which showed clearing of the area for construction work.

Pakistan started the construction of first nuclear reactor at Khushab in 1986. Project was headed by the Sultan Bashiruddin Mahmood a nuclear engineer of Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission (PAEC). Khushab nuclear started its operations in April 1998.

Suicide Attack at Punjab Regiment Center

ISPR has confirmed that a suicide attack at the parade ground has resulted in ‘Shahadat’ of soldiers of the Pakistan Army at the Punjab Regiment Center.

Twelve year old Suicide bomber was wearing school uniform and pretended as a school student to get near the heavily guarded area in the town of Mardan. Suicide attack occurred when the recruits were busy in their training.

Pakistan Successfully Tests Hatf-VII Babur Cruise Missile

Pakistan has successfully tested the Hatf-VII Babur Land Attack Cruise Missile (LACM) today. Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) has announced that Hatf-VII Babur was test fired against the target at a range of 600 kilometers.

Hatf-VII Babur Land Attack Cruise Missile (LACM) has a maximum range of 750 kilometers km and can carry both conventional and nuclear warhead. Babur Cruise Missile is designed with stealth requirements in mind and with the capability to fly at very low altitude to avoid detection by the enemy radars.

Hatf-VII Babur Land Attack Cruise Missile (LACM) was test fired from a new round canister instead of the typical box like canister used for the Babur LACM in the past.This could be a stepping stone towards fielding the long range cruise missile on the ships and submarines of the Pakistan Navy.

French Naval Chief Meets Admiral Noman Bashir to Discuss the Defense Cooperation

Chief of Naval Staff (CNS) of the Pakistan Navy, Admiral Noman Bashir has exchanged views on areas of mutual interest including the defense cooperation with the French Naval Chief.

French Naval chief Admiral Pierre-Francois Forissier along with his wife and several other officials from the French navy visited the Naval Headquarters of the Pakistan Navy at the invitation of the Pakistani Naval chief. Guest was given Guard of Honor by the cadets of the Pakistan Navy.

Admiral Pierre-Francois Forissier will also meet the Pakistani Defense Minister, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee and Air Chief.

Pakistan Navy has recently contracted the DCNS to supply the Submarine Tactical Integrated Combat System (SUBTICS) for two Agosta 70 submarines PNS Hashmat (S135) and PNS Hurmat (S136). Pakistan Navy is also operating three Agosta 90B submarines also known as the ‘Khalid class SSK’ in Pakistani service.

No Breach was Made by PAF in Tori Bund to Save 'PAF Base Shahbaz': Flood Commission

Flood commission has submitted its findings following it was establishment to determine the truth after the stunning statement by the Deputy Chairman Senate Mir Jan Mohammad Khan Jamali that PAF Base Shahbaz was saved at the cost of Balochistan in recent floods.

Commission was established bu the Supreme Court of Pakistan. Commission has determined that no intentional breaches were made in Sindh province and no breach was made in the Tori Bund by the air force to save the PAF Base Shahbaz in Jacobabad.

PM Gilani Visits JF-17 Thunder Production Facility at Kamra

Today Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani visited to the production facility of JF-17 Thunder fighter jet at Pakistan Aeronautical Complex. He praised the speed at which JF-17 Thunder aircraft is moving ahead.

He also thanked the Chinese friends for their efforts to transfer the technology and technical know how to make this project a reality.

PM Gilani said that his government is fully supports the JF-17 Thunder fighter jet program. He said that JF-17 fighter aircraft is proving itself as a flagship of friendship between the Pakistan and China.

Prime visited the different parts of the JF-17 Thunder production facility and expressed appreciation to the workers for their accomplishments in the project.

Indian Navy to Order Additional 4 Boeing P-8I Maritime Patrol Aircrafts

IN has confirmed that it will order 4 Boeing P-8I Maritime Patrol Aircrafts in addition to 8 already on order. Cost of these new 4 P-8Is will be around $1.5 billion.

The P-8I MPA is designed as a replacement for the P-3C MPA based on Boeing 737 aircraft. India is the first country outside USA to order P-8.

India is investing heavily in its navy to counter Chinese navy. Boeing has also responded to the Indian Navy’s RFI for 6 medium range MPAs.

Another Indian Mig-21 Crashes

Another Mig fighter aircrafts of the Indian Air Force has crashed on Friday. Aircraft in question is Mig-21 also known as flying coffins in the IAF service because of the extremely high crash rate.

Pilot Squadron Leader Falguni Laha Roy of the Mig-21 was able to eject safely out of his aircraft.Fighter jet suffered from some engine problem while in air. Last year, ten aircrafts of IAF crashed and six of them were Migs.

NATO & Afghan Forces Attack Pakistani Check Post

NATO-led International Security Assistance Force and Afghan National Army fired mortar shells at the Pakistani check post “Bange-e-Dar” in the region of in Ghulam Khan on Wednesday.

This unprovoked shelling resulted in the death of one soldier along with injuries to eight others two of which are in serious condition.

Indian Cheetah Helicopter Crashes

Cheetah helicopter belonging to the Indian Army Aviation has crashed yesterday. This incident resulted in death of Major Atul Garje and Major Bhandu Chander.

Both polits were schedule to take part in exercise Vayu Kaushal and later on participate in Aero India 2011. Crash occurred around kilometer from the scheduled landing site.

Indian Frigate Sunk during 'Day at Sea' for Military Families

Indian navy ‘s INS Vindhyagiri frigate belonging to the Western Naval Command's (WNC) fleet, designed to search and destroy the submarines and enemy ships was sunk when it was entering the Jawaharlal Nehru Port.

INS Vindhyagiri, was returning from the day at sea for the families of the naval officers and sailors. No casualties have been reported.

This incident happened on the 30 January 2011 when Cyprus’s merchant ship MV Nordlake collided with the Indian frigate head-on when it was leaving the port. Due to this collision frigate suffered a crack in its hull near the waterline and it sank Monday afternoon.

Pakistan Army to Induct 5000 Soldiers from Balochistan by March 2011

Major General Tariq Javed has said that Pakistan Army plans to induct around five thousand soldiers from the Balochistan. These soldiers will be inducted in March this year.

He also said that for the development of the Balochistan province Pakistan Army has taken different steps in education, health, and other sectors. He announced that Sui cant will be converted into a Military college for the youth in Balochistan.

Pakistan Air Force Receives 3rd Il-78P Midas Multi-Role Tanker Transport Aircraft


Pakistan has accepted the delivery of the 3rd Il-78P Midas Multi-Role Tanker Transport (MRTT) from Ukraine. This Il-78 MRTT will arrive in Pakistan by the end of this week.

Pakistan Air Force has procured 4 Il-78P Midas MRTT aircrafts from Ukraine. These aircraft are equipped with the three-point drogue refueling system.

Pakistan Air Force has upgraded 30 Mirage-III Rose-I with refueling kits purchased from the South Africa. These upgraded Mirage-III Rose-I will allow PAF’s pilots to have active air to air refueling with the IL-78P. Pakistan also plans to use IL-78P Midas MRTT aircrafts to refuel JF-17 Thunder and FC-20 fighter jets.
