Over 10,000 officers and Jawans from the Balochistan province has joined the Pakistan Army during the last two years.
Passing out ceremony of the 5000 officers and Jawans was held in Quetta and it was attended by the Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gilani, Governor Balochistan Nawab Zulfiqar Magsi, Chief Minister Balochistan Nawab Aslam Raisani, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani, Commander Southern Command Lt Gen Javed Zia.
Standards of recruitment were relaxed by the Pakistan Army to increase the number of youth from Balochistan joining the Pakistan Army.
