Pakistan Allocates Rs.56 Billion for Internal Security

<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on"><div style="text-align: justify;">Due to ever increasing threat of terrorist attack on the nation,budget for the internal security was increased to Rs. 56 billion for the fiscal year 2011-12. This marks an increase of 2.6% over the internal security budget for the outgoing fiscal year. Last year Rs. 54.58 billion were allocated by the federal government of Pakistan.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br> </div><div style="text-align: justify;">A large sum of this allocation will be used in paying the salaries, allowances and accommodation facilities of the Pakistani security departments. Federal government has allocated Rs. 102 million for raising the Balochistan Constabulary and Rs. 300 million were allocated for setting up 'National Forensic Science Agency' headquarters and the Islamabad laboratory.</div></div>

Pakistani Defense Budget Increased by 11.37%

<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on"><div style="text-align: justify;">Pakistan's finance minister, Dr Hafeez Shaikh has announced that defense budget for for next fiscal year will be Rs495.215 billion (just under $6 billion). This marks an increase of 11.37% when compared to the defense budget of the last year.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br> </div><div style="text-align: justify;">Government maintains that due to high inflation of 14 %, increase of mere 11.37 % actually means that defense budget has actually been decreased by almost 2.63%.</div></div>
