The Pakistan army has been ordered to improve its air defence systems along the Pak-Afghan. Pakistan army is deploying shoulder-fired, man-portable surface-to-air missiles and radars to detect the ISAF/NATO helicopters and fighter jets from long distances.
In his meeting with the Chief of the Army Staff, General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani, Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani informed the army chief about the decision of the federal government that Pakistan should retaliate if such an attack happens again.
The Deputy military spokesman Brigadier General Syed Azmat Ali has said, “Primarily it will be early warning systems, but there will be certain weapons deployed in certain areas.” He stressed that this is a defensive measure. It is speculated that missiles in question may be indigenously produced short range, Anza MK-II/III shoulder-fired, man-portable surface-to-air missile system which has range of 6 kilometer and it can target aircrafts flying as high as 3500 meters.

Earlier, the Director General of Military Operations (Pakistan) has informed the defence committee of Senate committee that NATO/ISAF attack against Pakistani security check posts was “a pre-planned conspiracy.” He suggested that “If there is another attack, they should have something to defend themselves.”
finally they start taking measures to prevent such attacks
ReplyDeletey not use antiaircraft guns?
ReplyDeleteI would not like to be the poor bugger having to fire or even carry these missiles.
ReplyDeleteIf ,say an AH64 apache, crosses the border then what !? Firing this missile on a well protected gunship with IR cameras ? The retaliation would be immediate and deadly.
Deploying real radar guided missiles and guns, not shoulder fired, would imply US raids with antiradiation missiles and all the arsenal. IE a shooting war with the US.
Very good opportunity to attack and denuclearize a Pakistan perceived a lunatic and infiltrated by the beardies.
By only closing the flow of aid money to Pakistan they can finish a very damaged and weak economy.
i would love to see if Americans have the guts to say that they want to denuclearize Pakistan, let alone actually doing it
ReplyDeleteUS aid is just $1.5 billion per Year which amounts to only $8 per capita and cancelling it would diminish Pakistan’s GDP growth by less than 0.2 per cent.
ReplyDeleteIn response Pakistan has over 100,000 soldiers on border to help US save its face in times when it is facing defeat in Afghanistan.
Now if US feels Pakistan makes no diff then why not end the aid now and enjoy the freedom in Afghanistan?????????
WILL BE USED ON MUSLIM FUNDAMENTALISTS BY AMERICAN GUIDED PAK ARMY
