Pakistan Navy and Maritime Security Agency (MSA) has saved fishermen trapped in a fishing boat at sea. Maritime Security Agency received a distress call from the fishing boat ‘Waadia' which suffered an engine failure.
Maritime Security Agency contacted the Pakistan Navy which directed PNS Tariq, a Type 21 frigate to help out the trapped fishermen at the in heavy sea.
Karachi-registered fishing boat ‘Waadia-Sindh’ was located by the helicopter flying from the PNS Tariq and boat was towed back to the Pasni Anchorage by the frigate of the Pakistan Navy. Timely rescue operation by the Pakistan Navy help save the lifes of 15 fishermen.
