US Tried to Stop Pakistani Nuclear Program in 1970s

Recently declassified US documents has confirmed that Americans tried to stop Pakistani nuclear program in 1970s. Declassified documents show that then-Secretary of State Cyrus Vance ordered American diplomats to use all means to stop Pakistan nuclear program.

Cross Border Attack from Afghanistan on Rise

Cross-border attack on the Pakistani villages and check posts in Federally Administered Tribal Areas have resulted in the death of over 22 innocent civilians in last week alone.

Over 41 were killed and 120 were injured in the cross border attack from Afghanistan in June.

Pakistan Navy Commissions Two STUS and PNS Alamgir

Pakistan Navy has inducted two small tanker-cum-utility-ships STUS and frigate, PNS Alamgir into its Naval Fleet.

Ceremony for the induction was held at dthe Pakistan Navy Dockyard and Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Noman Bashir was the chief guest. Officials from the Karachi Shipyard and Engineering Works were also present at this ceremony.

Pakistan Navy Inducts Indigenous UQAB-II UAVs

Pakistan Navy has inducted the first squadron of indigenously developed UQAB-II Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs). These UAVs are capable of carrying different type sensors to support of maritime interdiction operation in the Pakistani coastal areas.

Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Noman Bashir was the chief guest at the induction ceremony of indigenously developed UQAB-II. Pakistani Naval Chief said, “UAVs induction is a manifestation of Pakistan Navy’s commitment and resolve towards self-reliance and indigenization.”

Pakistan Air Force Looks for Additional 18 F-16 C/D Block 52+

Pakistan air force is looking to use the option for the purchase of 18 additional F-16 C/D Block 52+ fighters aircrafts. Pakistan has already taken the delivery of the first 18 F-16 C/D Block 52+ fighters aircrafts under the "Peace Drive I" package.

Afghan Province of Kunar and Nooristan are Safe Havens for Terrorists

Inter Services Public Relations' (ISPR) Director General Major General Athar Abbas has said that Afghan province of Kunar and Nooristan are the safe havens for the terrorists. He said that many high level terrorists and their supporters are hiding in these two Afghan provinces.

ISPR director said, “the recent terror attacks from Afghanistan have testify our words”. “We have already voiced our concern over the pull out of NATO and Afghan forces from these areas.“

He said that terrorist leaders hiding in these two Afghan provinces include Fazlullah, Faqeer Muhammad, Abdul Wali and Hakimullah.

ISI Chief Lt-Gen Ahmed Shuja Visits United States

Inter Services Intelligence (ISI), Lt-Gen Ahmed Shuja Pasha has been sent to the United States to deleaver a clear message to his counterparts in US that Pakistan will keep cooperating with the US in war against terrorists but it will not allow CIA funded private spy networks to operate in country.

Pakistan to Relay on Its Own Resources for WOT

In the meeting of the Corps Commanders of Pakistan army on July 12, it was decided that military trainers of the United States will not be allowed back in Pakistan and  activities of the CIA will be kept under strict watch.

With the suspension of the military aid, Pakistan army will have to relay on its the national defence budget for the counter terror operations.

Statements by the senior ministers are also an indication that government is got going to give in to the US demands of increased US military presence and a free hand for operations in Pakistan easily.

Pakistan Starts the Construction of Fast Attack Missile Craft

Karachi Shipyard & Engineering Works (KSEW)  has started the construction of the Fast Attack Missile Craft with Chinese help for the Pakistan Navy. Pakistan navy has placed an initial order for two such missile crafts one of which is being produced in China while the second one will be produced at the KSEW under transfer of technology agreement.

Pakistani Secretary of defense production, Lt. General Shahid Iqbal was the guest of honor at the keel laying ceremony of the fast attack missile craft boat as guest of honor.

Pakistan Can No Longer Afford to Keep 100,000 Troops in FATA: Defense Minister

Pakistani defense minister Ahmed Mukhtar stated in front of media that Pakistan can no longer afford to keep troops in the areas bordering Afghanistan due to recent aid suspension by the United States.

Statement by the Pakistani defense minister seems to be a response to the announcements by the US officials that it is going to cut the US military aid to Pakistan. Mukhtar claimed that Pakistan can no longer afford to keep the large number of soldiers in the area due to limited financial resources. He said, "We cannot afford to keep military out in the mountains for such a long period."

Pakistan Ready for 'Non-Deployment of Ballistic Missile Pact' with India

During the latest round of Indo-Pak peace talks, Pakistani side pushed the idea of an agreement which will forbid both sides from deploying the ballistic missiles.

Pakistan presented the idea of "non-deployment of ballistic missile system" targeting each other as a confidence building measure (CBM) which will bring much needed stability in the region.

Military Operation in Kurram Agency

Last week Pakistani Security Forces started the military operation against the Taliban militant hideouts in the Kurram Agency.

Pakistani ground forces entered into the Kurram Agency area after the fighter jets of Pakistan air force destroyed many of the militant position which was earlier detected by the surveillance UAVs of the Pakistan air force.

Pakistan Army Aviation is also using its AH-1 Cobra gunship helicopters to pound the positions  and so far over 60 militants has been killed in the joint strikes by the Pakistan army, air force and army aviation.

US to Suspended Pakistan Military Aid

New York Times has reported that United States is "suspending and, in some cases, canceling" the aid to the Pakistan. The New York Times has reported that three US officials has confirmed hat US is suspending the aid to Pakistan.

Newspaper says that this is a move by United States to punish Pakistan for expelling American military trainers from Pakistan and decrease in cooperation with the CIA.

Abdul Sattar Edhi Requests Kayani to Take Over Governemnt

Deniz Aslan-II (Sea Lion) Underway between Pakistani & Turkish Navies

Pakistan Navy and Turkish Navy take part in the naval exercise, Deniz Aslan-II (Sea Lion). Three warships of the Pakistan Navy and a submarine are taking part in the exercise along with the four visiting warships of the Turkish Navy.

Pakistani officials has confirmed that Pakistan Navy has so far not received any official word from the United States about the replacement of the two P-3C Orion maritime surveillance aircrafts which were destroyed in the terrorists attack at the Pakistani Naval base in Karachi.

US is Pressuring Pakistan for Deployment of Security Liaison Officer at All Corps Headquarters of Pakistan Army

Pakistan Navy is offering Short Service Commission (SSCs) in various branches.

Spokesperson of the Pakistan Navy Recruitment and Selection Center said that Pakistan Navy is offering short service commission  in the Special Branch (IT), Weapon Engineering, Operation Branch, Education Branch, Medical Branch (GDMOs), Supply Branch (Male) and Special Branch (Imagery).

Turkish Maritime Task Group Reaches Pakistan

Four Turkish Naval warships of the Turkish Maritime Task Group have reached Pakistan on a three day visit. Turkish Maritime Task Group (TMTG) will also participate in the bilateral naval exercise during its stay in Pakistan. Bilateral naval exercise will include anti-submarine, anti-surface and anti-air warfare exercises with Pakistan Navy.

Indian Navy to Get K-152 Nerpa Nuclear Submarine by End of 2011

Russia will hand over Akula-II class nuclear-powered submarine, K-152 Nerpa to the Indian Navy by the end of this year. India has already renamed it INS Chakra

Chief of the Russian Navy, Admiral Vladimir Vysotsky has confirmed that around 50 Indian submariners have received extensive training on the K-152 Nerpa nuclear-powered submarine and they are ready to take over the submarine.

US AIR FORCE FACT FILE MQ-1 PREDATOR UNMANNED AIRCRAFT SYSTEMPPP led federal government keeps lying in front of media with no regards to the. This time the battle is between the Federal Minister for Information Firdous Aashiq Awan and Defense Minister Ahmed Mukhtar.

Federal Minister for Information has rejected the statement made by the Defense Minister that Pakistan has asked the United States to evacuate the Shamsi Airbase.

Firdous Aashiq Awan said that PPP government has no such information. She said, “No such matter ever came under consideration in the Defense Committee of the Cabinet (DCC) to which I am also a member”.

PNS Aslat, 4th Frigate of the F-22P Zulfiqar Class

Pakistani Ministry of Defense Production signed an agreemnet worth $750 million with  China Ship Building and Trading Company (CSTC) to purchase four  F-22P Zulfiqar class frigates and 6 Z-9EC Anti-Submarine helicopters for the Pakistan Navy (PN). Construction of the  F-22P Zulfiqar class frigates started in 2005.
