Three Officers of the Pakistan Navy has been promoted by the Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani to the rank of rear admiral. Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani gave the approval of the promotion in accordance to the advice of the Flag Officers Promotion Board of the Pakistan Navy.
Naval officer who are promoted to the ranks of rear admiral are Cdr (ops) Farrokh Ahmad, SI(M) and Cdr(ops) Jamil Akhtar, SI(M) in the Operational Branch, and Cdr (E) Syed Imdad Imam Jafri, SI(M) in the Technical Branch.
