Pakistan Air Force Ready to Meet Challenge: Air Chief Marshal Rao Suleman

Chief of the air staff, Air Chief Marshal Rao Qamar Suleman has said that Pakistan Air Force (PAF) is fully aware of the current state of affairs in the region and is ready to meet all challenges facing the Pakistan.

He said this at the Graduation Ceremony of GD (P), Engineering, Air Defence and Administration & Special Duties Courses, and the Commissioning Ceremony of GD (P) and Engineering courses.

Chief of the air staff, Air Chief Marshal Rao Qamar Suleman reviewed the parade and gave the Quaid-e-Azam Banner to No 4 Squadron, the new Champion Squadron.

US Shocked By Indian MMRCA Decision

United States considers the elimination of the US fighter jets from the Indian MMRCA race as a serious setback to its efforts to forge defense industry links with India. Indian air force has eliminated US F/A-18IN and F-16 IN from the MMRCA competition to supply India with 126 fighter aircrafts.

Pakistan Successfully Tests Hatf-VIII Ra’ad Air-Launched Cruise Missile

Pakistan air force has successfully tested the Hatf-VIII Ra’ad ALCM (Air-Launched Cruise Missile). Ra’ad has a range of over 350km and it can be launch from fighter aircrafts of the Pakistan air force. Indigenously designed and developed missile is capable of carrying both conventional and nuclear warheads.

ALCM Hatf-VIII Ra’ad provides Pakistan air force with a weapon system which have strategic standoff capability to strike even highly defended targets. Pakistani scientist has designed Ra’ad cruise missile with stealth capability so that missile cannot be detected by the enemy radars.

HJT-36 Sitara Jet Trainer Crashes in Southern India

Indian HJT-36 Sitara Intermediate Jet Trainer which was intended t replace crash pron Kiran jet trainer of the Indian Air Force has crashed today.It is reported that both of the pilots were able to eject and are safe.

Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee Meeting Held at Joint Staff Headquarters

Army Chief , General Kayani, Naval Chief, Admiral Noman Bashir, Air Chief Marshal Rao Qamar Suleman attended the Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee Meeting (JCSC) was today.

Terrorist Attack on Pakistan Navy's Buses in Karachi

Buses carrying the personal of the Pakistan Navy have been hit by the terrorists in Karachi, Pakistan.

Two bombs were used in the attacks which exploded 15 minutes apart, killing three at the spot and wounding another 50.

Pakistani President, Asif Ali Zardari has award of “Hilal-i-Pakistan” to the Vice Admiral Dakheel Allah Bin Ahmed Al Waqdani, Commander, Royal Saudi Naval Forces at Aiwan-e-Sadr. President Zardari aslso stress the need to increase trade and defence relationship two countries.

Vice Admiral Dakheel Allah Bin Ahmed Al Waqdani, Commander, Royal Saudi Naval Forces thanked the President Asif Ali Zardari for the award and expressed the need to increase the defense cooperation between the between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia .

Uqaab Tactical Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV): Pakistani UAV Industry

Project to develop the Uqaab Tactical UAV for the Pakistan Army to meet its requirements of remotely controlled, self-piloted Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs), which can carry sensors like camera or  communications equipment and provide real-time imagery intelligence at to the tactical commanders.

Pakistan army wanted its Uqaab Tactical UAV to be a modular system design with low radar signature. Project began in 2007 and three Pakistani firms participated in the competition.

Integrated Defense Systems (IDS) offered its Huma-I and Huma-II Tactical UAV systems to the Pakistan Army for the Uqaab Tactical unmanned aerial vehicle project.

Second company which entered into the competition was Advanced Computing and Engineering Solutions (ACES). ACES offered Pakistan Army its Eagle-Eye P-I UAV and larger Eagle-Eye P-II UAV systems.

Albadeey Technologies participated in the competition launched by the Pakistan Army’s competition for the Uqaab Tactical unmanned aerial vehicle with its offered Hud Hud II and its larger version Hud Hud III Unmanned Aerial Vehicle systems.

Eagle-Eye P-I & P-II Tactical UAVs of ACES: Pakistani UAV Industry

Advanced Computing and Engineering Solutions (ACES) displayed both Eagle-Eye-PI & Eagle-Eye-PII UAVs along with their ground Control Station (GCS) at the International Defence Exhibition & Seminar IDEAS-2006 in Karachi, Pakistan.

Eagle-Eye-P1 UAV has maximum speed of speed 120km/h with enhanceable endurance 3 hours and it can to provide real-time video feedback to the operators from a distance of 80 km.

Huma 1 & 2 Tactical UAV of IDS: Pakistani UAV Industry

Integrated Defense Systems (IDS) displayed the Huma-1 tactical unmanned aerial vehicle for the public for the first time at the International Defence Exhibition & Seminar IDEAS-2006.

IDS officials told the reporters that it has used composite materials to decrease the overall empty weight and Radar absorbent paint for the low RCS (Radar Cross Section) of the Huma-1 UAV to avoid early detection by enemy radars. Huma-1 has a maximum speed of speed 180km/h with endurance 5 to 6 hours.

Hud Hud II & III Tactical UAVs of Albadeey Technologies: Pakistani UAV Industry

Albadeey Technologies has developed two tactical surveillance unmanned aerial vehicle system which are called Hud Hud II and Hud Hud III. Hud Hud III is the enlarged version of the Hud Hud II unmanned aerial vehicle.

The Hud Hud III UAV has maximum speed of speed 150km/h with endurance of 6 hours. Hud Hud III UAV is designed to carry larger payload of 40 Kg. and transmit high resolution pictures and video feed back to the ground station from a distance of 100 km.

Protesters to Block the ISAF Supplies in Pakistan

Thousands of citizens of Pakistan has gathered in the capital of the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Peshawar to protest the killing of the innocent civilians including women and children in the recent drone attack by the United States in the Mir Ali subdivision of North Waziristan tribal region.

While US have failed to admit the high number of civilian causalities in the drone attacks, indecent sources have confirmed the deaths of women and children along with innocent bystander. United States has adopted the policy to use drone attacks to counter terrorism at the cost of high number of civilian deaths in these drone attacks.

PAF Can Shoot Down US Predator Drones:Dr Samar Mubarak

Pakistan Air Force is capable of shooting down the MQ-9 Reaper and MQ-1 Predator unmanned aerial vehicles if government of Pakistan provides it the go ahead for such mission. This was stated by the Dr Samar Mubarak Mand.

Dr Samar Mubarak Mand said that Pakistan had F-16 combat aircrafts are perfectly capable for any such mission but final decision needs to made by the government of Pakistan.

Pakistani Security Forces has Broken the Backbone of Terrorists:General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani

Chief of Army Staff (COAS), General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani has said that Pakistani Security Forces has broken the back of terrorist groups which were linked to al Qaeda and Talibans. United States which has been struggling to end the insurgency in the Afghanistan after ten years has criticized the Pakistani security forces that they aren't doing enough to fight terrorists and its intelligence agency ISI have active relations with the Afghan Taliban militants.

PNS Alamgir (F 260) Reaches Turkish Naval Base 'Golcuk '

Pakistan Navy’s Frigate PNS Alamgir (F 260) has arrived at Golcuk Naval Base in Turkey. PNS Alamgir (F 260) is a Oliver Hazard Perry-class frigate which was previously called USS McInerney by the US Navy (USN). USN retired the USS McInerney on 31 August and it was immediately re-commissioned into the Pakistan Navy (PN) at Naval Station Mayport, Florida, and USA.

Before reaching the Turkish Naval Base 'Golcuk ' PNS Alamgir (F 260) has already made port calls in Bermuda (UK), Azores (Portugal), Cadiz (Spain) and its next stop will be in Jeddah (Saudi Arabia) and last stop before reaching Pakistan on 13 May 2011 will be in Salalah (Oman).

PNS Alamgir (F 260) wil help the Pakistan Navy in its efforts to provide the nation with enhanced maritime security. Currently frigate is on its way to Pakistan from United States. During its passage to its new home in Pakistan PNS Alamgir (F 260) is scheduled to visit various ports of the friendly countries.

United States Evacuate the Shamsi Airbase in Balochistan

US Embassy spokesman, Alberto Rodriguez has confirmed the reports that Pakistan has stopped all US operations from the Shamsi Air Base which is located about 200 miles southwest of Quetta near the town of Washki. It was the same airbase which was being used by the American launch unmanned aerial strikes against targets in the tribal region of the Pakistan.

Shamsi Air Base in Balochistan was provided to the United States to for logistical support operation at the start of the Afghan war and it was used extensively by the Americans in 2001 to launch sorties against targets in Afghanistan.

Times Magazine has published its list of 100 most influential people of 2011. Times Magazine has placed the ISI Chief Lieutenant-general Ahmad Shuja Pasha at 17th place in the list containing names of 100 most influential people of 2011.

Vice President of United States, Joe Baiden is on number 14 while first lady of United States Michelle Obama is on 22nd position, French President Nicolas Sarkozi is on 32 and United States Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is on number 45 in the list of 100 most influential people of 2011.

India is illegally Keeping 71 Pakistanis In its Jails

In a briefing to the National Assembly State Minister for Foreign Affairs Hina Rabbani Khar has told that parliamentarians that atleast 71 Pakistanis are being held by the India in its jails despite the fact that they have completed their sentences.

US Drone Attack Kills 25 including Civilians

25 people have been killed by a US drone attack the Spinwam village of the North Waziristan tribal region along the border with Afghanistan.

It is reported that number of people killed in the drone strike were civilians. This drone attack comes as anger rises against US because of the high number of deaths of innocent people in these drone attacks.

US to Provide 85 Hand-Launched RQ-11 Raven UAVs to Pakistan

US officials have disclosed that USA is going to provide 85 small hand-launched AeroVironment’s RQ-11 Raven UAVs to Pakistan Army. US officials have said that this is going to be a key step towards meeting Pakistan’s repeated requests for US drone technology.

Sale of the RQ-11 Raven UAVs is separate from the US Defense Secretary Robert Gates’s offer to  sell 12 Shadow UAVs in January 2010. Pakistani officials have said that talks are being held to overcome the  objections of high cost and slow timeline for delivery. US officials claimed that these talks are almost complete.

AeroVironment’s RQ-11 Raven UAVs weights around 4.2 pounds (1.9 kg) costs $25,000 to $ 35,000 each and total system costs around $250,000. RQ-11 Raven UAVs has and endurance of 80 minutes and it is powered by a battery.
