A contingent of 245 Pakistani soldiers have left for Darfur Sudan to be a part of the UN peacekeeping mission. Pakistani soldiers will be deployed in Sudan to maintain peace and stability at Darfur.

Pakistan army has sent its soldiers in UN support missions to maintain peace and stability around the world and  has participated in major UN missions in Somalia, Sierra Leone, Bosnia, Congo and Liberia.



This deployment will take the total number of Pakistani soldiers supporting United Nations Peacekeeping Missions to 9661. Pakistan is the second largest contributer to the UN led peacekeeping missions to  maintain peace and stability around the world.
