Special Representative of Russia Meets Minister of State Ms. Hina Rabbani

Special Representative of Russia for Afghanistan has met with the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Ms. Hina Rabbani Khar and discussed the current state of relationship between Pakistan and Russia. 

Special Representative of Russia for Afghanistan, Mr. Zamir Kabulov discussed different issues including situation in Afghanistan with  Ms. Hina Rabbani Khar. Both sides underscored the importance close c operation to promote stability, peace and security in the region.

Pakistan Aeronautical Complex, Nawabshah

Sindh government has handed over the officially permitted the pakistan air force to set up Aeronautical Complex near Nawabshah to expend the production and repair capacity of Pakistan Aeronautical Complex.

Sindh Chief Secretary Ghulam Ali Pasha provided the necessary legal documents to the Air Vice Martial Arshad. Total of 571acres of land has been acquired by the singh government for this purpose.

PAF Jets Strike Terrorist Hideouts in Orakzai

Pakistan air force has once again used its fighter jets to destroy the hideouts of terrorists and killed six of them in latest strikes in the Mamozai area of Orakzai,South Waziristan.

Pakistani officials has also confirmed that at least six militants were killed and another 12 were injured wounded in an air attack by the Pakistan air force.

PAF was Responsible for securing Outer Perimeter of PNS Mehran

Statements by the Pakistan Navy at the recently held briefing suggest that Pakistan Air Force (PAF) was responsible for providing security to the PNS Mehran as it was housed inside the PAF Base Faisal. Pakistan Navy says that they haven’t yet rule out “inside support and help” for the terrorists.

Pakistan Navy’s briefing stressed that the goal of the investigation is to see who is responsible to for the security breach at the naval base PNS Mehran.Naval officials said that Pakistan Air Force was providing security at the entry gate of the PNS Mehran and terrorists were able breach Air Force security parameters.

Pakistan's F-16 Program at Risk of Failure?: Wikileaks

SUMMARY: The Pakistan Air Force (PAF) has approached the U.S. with a request to use Foreign Military Financing (FMF) to help pay for Mid-Life Updates (MLU) on its existing fleet of F-16 fighter aircraft. This request would require the modification of the original Letter of Offer and Acceptance (LOA) that sanctioned the deal and notification to Congress of the change. 

The MLU case is but one of three major cases that constitute the bulk of the over $3 billion F-16 sale. Failure of the F-16 program would have serious long-term consequences for Pak-US bilateral relationship.

Pakistani Nuclear Weapons are Safe: Dr. Samar

Nuclear scientist Dr. Samar Mubarakmand  ( ثمر مبارک مند) has retreated that Pakistani nuclear weapons program is safe fro  the terrorist threats because of the fool proof mechanism which has are placed to ensure its safety.

He said this in response to the constant propaganda about the safety of Pakistan’s Nuclear program by the Indian and western media outlets.

He said that Osama Bin Laden’s compound had no security protection while Pakistani Nuclear Weapons are protected by highly efficient and effective teams of highly trained professionals.

Pakistan Air Force Destroyed Terrorists Hideouts, Kills 26 Terrorists

Pakistan Air Force has targeted the terrorist hideouts and killed around 26 of them in the Orakzai and Kurram tribal regions close to neighboring Afghanistan.


Fighter jets of the Pakistan air force destroyed 7 hideouts of the terrorist groups and killed At least 18 terrorists while another 12 were injured in Mehmood Zai area of Orakzai. Sources say the terrorist were hiding light anti-aircraft guns in these hideouts.

JF-17 Thunder to Participating in Izmir Air Show in Turkey


Editor of  the AirForces Monthly, Alan Warnes has confirmed that JF-17 Thunder will be participating in the  Izmir air show in Turkey along with F-16 fighter jests.

Three JF-17 Thunders from the Pakistan Air Force participated in Farnborough Air Show and  Zhuhai Air Show last year in order to attract customers. Chinese company CATIC has said that are in talks with about eight countries for sale of the JF-17 Thunder.

Hillary Clinton in Pakistan to Discuss Pakistani Cooperation in WOT

United States’ Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has arrived in Pakistan to discuss the worsening relationship between Pakistan and United States since the secret attack by the US SEALs which resulted in the death of Osama bin Laden.

Secretary of State will meet Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari, Pakistan’s Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani and Chief of Army Staff, General Ashfaq Pervez Kayani,

On one hand, lawmakers in the United States are questioning the Pakistani commitment to fight against terrorists and are lobbying to cut the $7.5 billion aid while on the other hand Pakistani lawmakers are calling for cutting back on the cooperation with the United States with some even calling for closing the supply route use by the NATO and United States to support their troops in Afghanistan.

Pakistan Army's Third Field Exercise in Thar Desert

Pakistan Army's third field exercise as part of the summer training program to test the capabilities of the soldiers was conducted in the Thar Desert. Soldiers from the infantry units of Pakistan Army, mechanized infantry and armored regiments took part in the four week long field exercise.

Pakistan Army’s Al Khalid Main Battle Tanks (MBT) along with other tanks and M-113 Armoured Personnel Carriers took part in this field exercise. Al Khalid MBT is equipped with new Explosives Reactive Armor (ERA) which has been able to defeat all known 120mm and 125mm rounds in testing done by the HIT. Al-Khalid MBT is developed by Heavy Industries Taxila (HIT) to meet the requirements of the Pakistan army.

Uzbek & Afghan Terrorists Involved in Attacks at PNS Mehran

Three terrorists which were killed by the naval special force operators during PNS Mehran operation has been identified as Uzbek while another was Afghan national.

Local media has also reported that there are some indications of involvement of the Al-Qaeda leader Saif el Adil’s in attacks against Pakistani naval base. Investigator say that terrorists were fully aware of the exact location of P-3C orion maritime surveillance aircraft.

Wreckage of US Stealth Helicopter has Reached US: Pentagon

Pentagon spokesman has confirmed that Pakistan has returned the wreckage of the US stealth Blackhawk helicopter used by the US Naval SEALs to kill Osama bin Ladin’s in Abbottabad.

Pentagon official has said that tail section of the stealth helicopter which malfunctioned and was destroyed by the US SEALs has reached back in United States.

Lieutenant Syed Yaser Abbas Nominated for Nishan-e-Haider (نشان حیدر ) by PM Gilani

Lieutenant Syed Yaser Abbas was on phone when he heard the news of terrorists attack on the PNS Mehran Naval Base. Terrorists with their sophisticated assault weapons and night vision googles were able to evade the surveillance cameras and entered the base by cutting the barb wire fence.

They went straight for their planned target, Pakistan Naval Aviation’s P-3C Orian aircrafts. They fired their RPGs at this big four-engine aircraft and one of them was able to hit directly to the aircraft which set the aircraft on fire.

This fire led to the destruction of another P-3C which was in close proximity of the burning aircraft. Blasts of RPG hitting the aircraft and the explosions of its fuel tank were heard in many parts of the Karachi.

Pakistan Navy Installations to be Relocated: Admiral Noman Bashir

Admiral Noman Bashir has announced that Pakistan Navy is trying to relocated its assets to a safer place which will be away from residential areas.

Chief of naval Staff was talking to the media at a press conference  which as to arranged by the Pakistan navy to provide initial report about the terrorist attack at that PNS Mehran Naval Base.

He said that Pakistan Navy is trying to relocate Naval Base and other important installations away from residential areas as it is very difficult to defend them against terrorists attacks due to crowded residential areas.

PNS Mehran Under Terrorist Attacks: Updates


  1. PNS Mehran is currently under attack by the terrorists and over 36 blasts has been reported. Heavy gunfire can esily heard.
  2. One of the P-3C was hit by an RPG fired by the terrorists and another was severely damaged due to the close proximity of the location of the aircraft.
  3. Naval Special Services Group(SSGN) is conducting operation with help of Pak Marines to flush out and capture the terrorist alive.
  4. Four terrorists  have been captured alive and some of the terrorists have been killed in action by the Naval Special Services Group(SSGN).

Pakistan Navy's P-3C Orions Destroyed in Terrorist Attack 
Pakistani News Channels are reporting that atleast three at the PAF Base Faisal & PNS Mehran. These blasts has occurred at the guard's room at the PAF Base Faisal & PNS Mehran and rescue teams are rushing toward the base.

Locals in the area has reported that atleast three blasts has occurred which are followed by the heavy gunfire and raising smoke for PAF Base Faisal & PNS Mehran can be seen from long distance.

Pakistan Air Force Destroys Invading Afghan Forces

Pakistan Air Force used its fighter jets to destroy the mortar and machine gun positions used by the Afghan troops. These positions were being used to by the Afghan troops to attack two Pakistani posts of Miskinai and Sangpura in the Bajaur area.

Pakistani Federal Minister for States and Frontier Regions, Lt-Gen K.M. Shaikh informed the media that Afghan Askaris were firing at Pakistani posts of Miskinai and Sangpura and security personal on these posts returned inkind with their own guns and motor.

US should Avoid Short-Sighted Approach towards Pakistan:Donald Rumsfeld

Former United States Defence Secretary, Donald Rumsfeld has said in an interview to FOX that US should avoid making any decision in hurry which will result in some short-sighted actions like suspension or cancelation of the US aid to Pakistan.

He said that US needs to take a deep breath and should be aware of the fact that any short sighted decision like cutting aid or military relations will just help the Americans feel good for about five minutes but long term effects of such a decision will be completely against long term US interests.

Gawadar Port:

China has agreed to take over the operations of Gawadar Port in Pakistan at the request of the federal government after the agreement with the Singapore Port Authority expires. Pakistani Defense Minister, Chaudhry Ahmad Mukhtar has announced in front of local media that Pakistan asked for Chinese in number of fields and China was immediately ready to help Pakistan in any way possible.

Type 054A Jiangkai Stealth Frigate:

Pakistani Defense Minister, Chaudhry Ahmad Mukhtar has said that China has also agreed to provide loan for the purchase of the Chinese 4400 ton frigate. This agreement will clear the financial problems of the Pakistan Navy and it will be able to purchase new generation stealth Type 054A Jiangkai II Multi-Role frigate which is equipped with the HQ-16 Medium-Range Air Defence Missiles.

Astra Beyond-Visual-Range Air-to-Air Missile Test Fails

DRDO's Astra Beyond-Visual-Range Air-to-Air Missile failed to meet its test objectives in a recent flight test by the DRDO. India plans to conduct additional tests over next few days. Missile is being developed for the Indian air force which plans to integrate them on its fleet of SU-30MKI, Upgraded MiG-29s and Light Combat Aircraft Teja.

India to Upgrade 51 Mirage-2000H for $2.1 billion

Indian air force will upgrade its 51Mirage-2000H to Mirage -2000-5 MK-II level under contract worth $2.1 billion. First four will be upgraded in France while remaining 47 will be upgraded in India with French components by HAL. France has not allowed India to use Israeli BVR missiles on Mirages.

Pakistan & China Agree on Production 2nd batch of JF-17 Thunders

Pakistani Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani has met with the Chinese Prime Minister Wen Jiabao and discussed different issues of mutual interest.Both Prime Ministers held a 45 minute one to one meeting before beginning of formal discussions with their respective delegations for two hours at the Great Hall of the People.

Pakistani Defense Minister Ahmad Mukhtar has announced that during the discussions PM Gilani discussed Pakistan’s desire to increase production rate of the jointly developed JF-17 Thunder fighter jets and Pakistan Air Force’s plans to buy Chinese J-10 Fighter jets.

Desert Hawk UAV by Integrated Dynamics: Pakistani UAV Industry

Integrated Dynamics initiated the work to design the on the Desert Hawk Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV) in late 2003 to meet the requirements of the Pakistani army for hand launched Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV) requirements. First prototype conducted its flight trials in 2004. Desert Hawk UAV was intended to be capable of both powered and unpowered flight.


Desert Hawk system developed by the Integrated Dynamics consists of 2 to 4 Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV) and a portable ground control station. Desert Hawk UAV also demonstrated the communications relay capability in 2005.

Pakistan Navy Receives Two Tanker-Cum-Utility Ships

Pakistan Navy has received two Tanker-Cum-Utility Ships (STUS) from the Karachi Shipyard and Engineering Works (KSEW).

These small Tanker-Cum-Utility Ships are 47.2 m long with displacement of 1600 tonnes. These ships use steerable rudder propellers and bow thrusters to change their direction and are equipped with modern navigation and communication system.

Pakistani Naval Chief, Admiral Numan Bashir in Oman

Chief of Naval Staff Pakistan Navy, Admiral Numan Bashir met with Oman’s Defence Minister Sayyid Badr Bin Saud Al Busaidi and discussed possibilities of cooperation between the Royal Navy of Oman (RNO) and the Pakistani Navy.

Al Qaeda Operative Al-Makki Captured, Suicide Attack Averted



Pakistani Army has captured a higher-ranking member of the Al Qaeda, Muhammad Ali Qasim Yaqub, alias Abu Sohaib al-Makki from Karachi.

DG ISPR, Maj. Gen. Athar Abbas announced that Muhammad Ali Qasim Yaqub, alias Abu Sohaib al-Makki was a Yemeni origin Al Qaeda member who was operating in the Pakistani-Afghan border.

NATO Helicopter Attack Pakistani Post

Yesterday, NATO helicopters entered into Pakistani airspace from Afghanistan and fired on a Pakistani post which resulted into the injuries to the two Pakistani soldiers. Clash too place on at Admi Kot Post in the North Waziristan tribal region of Pakistan.

Pakistani Army has confirmed that NATO helicopters crossed the international border and fired at the Pakistani military post in the area. Pakistani Army has “lodged a strong protest and demanded a flag meeting.”

Pakistan Agrees to Return Wreckage of US Stealth Helicopter

Pakistan has agreed to return the rubble of the US SEALs (US Naval Special Forces) Stealth Helicopter used in the raid that killed Osama bin Laden. This is widely seen as first positive towards controlling the badly damaged relationship between Pakistan sand United States.

United States Senator John Kerry has announced this after his meetings with the Pakistani leadership. United States was anxious about the technology of the highly advance stealth helicopter which was used by the US SEALs.

Chairman of the Tehreek-e-Inqilab Pakistan, Ilamuddin Gazi has submitted an appeal in the Lahore High Court (LHC) against the federal government, President of Pakistan, Foreign Ministary, Defence Ministry and Interior Ministry by challenging the authority provided to the President of Pakistan to act as a Supreme Commander of Pakistani Armed Forces.

Rana Ilamuddin Gazi has said in his appeal that this kind of arrangement only results in delays in decision making process which could harm the ability of the Pakistani armed forces to respond to the threat from the US or India.

General Wynne Cancelled Scheduled Visit to United States


Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) General Khalid Shameem Wynne has informed his US counterpart; Admiral Mike Mullen about the cancellation of his visit to the USA due to the current situations arising from US Operation inside Pakistan on May 2.

Briefing by Security Forces of Pakistan at Joint Session of Parliament

Chief of the Army Staff (COAS), General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani, Chief of the Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal Rao Qamar Suleman, Naval Chief Admiral Noman Bashir, Deputy Chief of the Air Chief, Air Vice Marshal Asim Suleman, and DG Military Operations, Major General Ashfaq Nadeem Ahmed were also present at the Parliament House for the Joint Session.

Joint Session of Parliament is seen as a historic step by the powerful armed forces of Pakistan towards parliamentary accountability and Joint Session of Parliament lasted for over 11 hours.

PML-N leader Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan and other PML-N parliamentarians criticized the security forces during the in-camera session but the Pakistan People’s Party and PML-Q defended the security forces which resulted in a heated exchange of words between the parliamentarians of these parties.

DG ISI Offers to Resign During Joint Session of Parliament

Director General Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), Lt Gen Ahmad Shuja Pasha has offered to resign from his post during the Joint Session of Parliament after acknowledging the intelligence failure. He said, “There was no intentional negligence but an aspect of failure is there.”

He said that surrendered he is ready for full accountability of before any investigation team formed by the government of Pakistan to investigate the US operation inside Pakistan which resulted in the death of the Osama bin Laden. Shuja Pasha said that he had already offered to resign thrice but Chief of the Army Staff (COAS), General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani had asked him to stay.

Terrorists may Attack Parliament House to Avenge Osama’s death

In a major security breach last week, a foreign national (Sudanese?) was able to cross the security of the Parliament House and managed to escape capture.

A Member National Assembly was able to note the car reported it to the security staff. Person in question was able to bypass the security of the Parliament House by acting as an escort of the MNA’s car.

Snipers, Rangers, FC & Helicopters Used to Protect Joint Session of Parliament

Extraordinary precautions were taken for the security of the Parliament house by the security forces for the joint session of the parliament yesterday. Airspace around the Parliament house was patrolled by helicopters, a heavy contingent of Pakistan Rangers and Frontier Constabulary were positioned in the nearby buildings along with police.

Snipers from the Special Forces units were also deployed in surrounding areas of the Parliament house will man nearby buildings and Pakistan Army units were kept on stand-by to responds to any unexpected situation at moment’s notice.

PAF Capable of Defending Pakistani Airspace from US Drones: Air Chief Marshal Rao

Three Promoted to the Rank of Rear Admiral by PM Gilani

Three Officers of the Pakistan Navy has been promoted by the Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani to the rank of rear admiral. Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani gave the approval of the promotion in accordance to the advice of the Flag Officers Promotion Board of the Pakistan Navy.

 

Naval officer who are promoted to the ranks of rear admiral are Cdr (ops) Farrokh Ahmad, SI(M) and Cdr(ops) Jamil Akhtar, SI(M) in the Operational Branch, and Cdr (E) Syed Imdad Imam Jafri, SI(M) in the Technical Branch.

PAF's IL-78MP Midas Multi-Role Tanker Transporter in Sri Lanka

This is the image of the Pakistan Air Force's Ilyushin IL-78MP Midas Multi-Role Tanker Transport (MRTT) R10-002 taken at the CMB Colombo [Katunayake], Sri Lanka on 27th March 2011 by the Serge Dejonckheere.

Pakistan Air Force is already operating three IL-78MP Midas Multi-Role Tanker Transport (MRTT) which it acquired from Ukraine. Pakistan Air Force has ordered total of four Il-78MP Midas MRTT aircrafts which are equipped with the three-point drogue refueling system. Pakistan also have option to purchase 5th IL-78 Midas MRTT if funds are made available to the Pakistan air force.

Indian media has reported that if a country like United States tries to do a covert operation in India by using its special operations forces like they did in Abbottabad, their response may not be very different from that of Pakistan.

Joint Indian Military Exercise ‘Vijayee Bhava’ in Progress Near Pakistani Border

Joint exercise ‘Vijayee Bhava’(blessed to win) of the Indian Army and Indian Air Force is in progress in the in the deserts of northern Rajasthan, near the Pakistani border.

This is first of the different military exercises planned by the Indian Army’s Western Command and it will involve mechanized maneuvers by Indian armored vehicles including tanks and infantry fighting vehicles which will be supported by Russian made Mi-25 gunship helicopters, Russian made MiG-29, MiG-21 Bison and Jaguar fighter jets.

PAF's Investigation Team to Probe Pakistani Radar Failure on May 2

Contrary to the statements published by the Pakistani media that Air Chief Marshal Rao Qamar Suleman has said that Pakistani radars deployed on the western front of Pakistan were not active on May 2, 2011, Pakistani English Language Newspaper “Nation” has reported that Pakistan Air Force (PAF) has formed investigative team to scrutinize the events of Abbottabad operation by United States.

This is the first investigative team looking into the details of event of US helicopters entering in and out of the Pakistan undetected.

Is India Capable of Conducting US like Operation Against Pakistan

Claims by the Indian army chief of an Abbotabad-like operation by Indian Special Forces in Pakistan fail to consider the Pakistani response against such violation of air space. India is nowhere near as capable as USA and Pakistani forces are perfectly capable of not only handling the situation in Pakistan in face of Indian attack but are capable enough to respond with different offensive actions against the India.

Prime Minister Gilani’s Aircraft Suffers from Technical Problems

Air Chief Marshal Rao Qamar Suleman has said that Pakistan Air Force is currently operating three Saab-2000 Erieye AWACS (Airborne Warning and Control System) which were purchased from the Sweden and fourth one will arrive in Pakistan in June 2011.

PAF's Radars were Inactive Not Jammed: PAF Air Chief

Air Chief Marshal Rao Qamar Suleman has said that invasion of the American helicopters into Pakistan is a air surveillance failure which occurred due to the fact that radars deployed on the western front of Pakistan were not active on May 2, 2011. He dismissed the notion that the Pakistani radars were jammed.

He said that Pakistan Air Force normally doesn’t take the obvious threat from Afghanistan for its urban areas and because of this radars deployed near the Afghan borders were not active at the time of operation.

PAF to Integrate MAR-1 Anti-Radiation missile on Its JF-17 Thunders

Mectron has delivered MAR-1 anti-radiation missiles to the Pakistan Air Force last year. These MAR-1 anti-radiation missile are currently being integrated on the JF-17 Thunder fighter jets and Mirage-III/ V ROSE fighters jets.

MAR-1 anti-radiation missiles are developed by the Mectron for the Brazilian Air Force (FAB). Pakistan Air Force purchased 100 MAR-1 missiles at cost of US $ 126 million.

Integration of the MAR-1 Missiles was also confirmed by the PAF officials at the Farnborough Airshow last year. JF-17 Thunder fighter jet is a jointly developed fighter jet by Pakistan and China to meet the requirements of the PAF.
