During the latest round of Indo-Pak peace talks, Pakistani side pushed the idea of an agreement which will forbid both sides from deploying the ballistic missiles.

Pakistan presented the idea of "non-deployment of ballistic missile system" targeting each other as a confidence building measure (CBM) which will bring much needed stability in the region.

However Indian side rejected the Pakistani idea of non-deployment of ballistic missiles on the grounds that it will restrict it from deployment of ballistic missiles to defend itself from China.

Pakistan had raised the idea of signing an agreement which will forbid both sides from the deployment of ballistic missiles, nuclear warheads and even called far nuclear free South Asia but Indian side feels that such agreement will force it into remaining a regional power which conflicts its dream of becoming a global power with military muscle.
