In a successful anti terrorism operation, Pakistan’s Army was able to capture Sheikh Younis al-Mauritani, a senior Al Qaeda leader.
Officials of the Pakistan Army has said, “We have told the Americans we will capture Al Qaeda wherever we find them" and capture of the Sheikh Younis al-Mauritani in an operation is clear example of our resolve and his arrest is another fatal blow to the Al Qaeda.
Sheikh Younis al-Mauritani had previously targeted U.S. economic interests by destroying gas and oil pipelines, power generating dams, and oil tankers by using explosive-laden boats in international waters.
Pakistani security forces has captured over ,500 Al Qaeda operatives since 9/11.
