Thousands of citizens of Pakistan has gathered in the capital of the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Peshawar to protest the killing of the innocent civilians including women and children in the recent drone attack by the United States in the Mir Ali subdivision of North Waziristan tribal region.

While US have failed to admit the high number of civilian causalities in the drone attacks, indecent sources have confirmed the deaths of women and children along with innocent bystander. United States has adopted the policy to use drone attacks to counter terrorism at the cost of high number of civilian deaths in these drone attacks.

This has sparked a lot of anger among the Pakistanis who take this as extra judicial killing combined with the death of innocent Pakistanis including women and children is only helping the terrorists in creating an environment where militants can get lot of logistical and material support.

Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf party (Justice Movement) has planned the protests in the Peshawar city of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. In these protests civilians will gather to temporarily suspend the supply line of US led ISAF troops to protest the killings of innocent civilians without any distinction between them and terrorists.

At the call of the Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf party, protesters are moving from all parts of the country including the capital Islamabad. Protest is arranged for April 23 and 24.

In 2010, United States conducted 124 attacks using the unmanned aerial vehicles in the FATA region of Pakistan killing over 1,184 people. People interviewed are even saying that for them there is no difference between terrorists and US drone attacks as both of them are killing the innocent Pakistani civilians without any regard of life.

From between January 14, 2006 and April 8, 2009, United States carried out 60 drone attacks in the FATA which resulted in the 687 innocent Pakistani civilians while only killing 14 wanted al-Qaeda leaders were killed raising the question if these strikes should by any measure be allowed to continue.
